Pro is really not that expensive compared to other professional animation packages, and you can get a lot more out of it than you can with Debut. If you intend to create more advanced animations and will stick to developing your skills for years, I would go for Moho Pro. And if you do like it, you can upgrade to the full version later. If you don't like it, you haven't spent a lot of money. It's compatible with Photoshop and png, so you can use almost any bitmap paint program to create elements for it. It has a basic IK system and Switch layers, and you can do quite a lot with that. If you just want to dabble in puppet animation to see if you even like it, go with Debut. As a beginning animator, it's important to understand that, otherwise you're going to be unhappy with any animation program. Quality only comes with a lot of practice and experience. Moho Pro has everything Debut has, so if you want to take it slow, you can limit yourself to the 'Debut' features and learn the 'Pro' features as you need them.īut with either version, quality animation doesn't come automatically. If your technical ambitions are higher, and you don't mind having a lot more stuff to learn, Pro is a good choice. With Pro it's possible to create and animate puppet rigs to approach the look of FBF animations, but easier to animate and re-animate than it would with traditional FBF techniques. Moho Pro is a bit more expensive than Debut, but it packs a lot of advanced features that can take your animation to a more sophisticated level. And if you don't have a lot of time and or a big budget, there's a lot of merit in keeping your designs and animations 'simple'. That said, I believe simple animations can be very appealing if the stories and characters are engaging. By no means do I mean you can't create quality work with Debut, but it will be relatively 'simple' work compared to what is possible with Moho Pro. You can probably learn it quickly, but the features are limited if you want to go beyond basic puppet animation techniques. Moho Debut is pretty cheap, and it has everything you need to do some fun stuff. Since you mention that you have no previous animation experience, I think it depends on what you want to do with animation and how far you're willing to go with it. If I download the free trial, which is the more expensiveversion, I won’t know what the inexpensive version does. Unless I ammistaken, that would mean I can only move facial expressions but not the body. Does it? Also from the product comparison, it appears the less expensive standardedition does not do bone rigging, just face rigging. Crazy Talk looks as if I might be able to import the jpg and do this withouthaving to go to another program. then convert each ofthese body parts into png and import them into Moho studio as separate layersand then I can do the bone setup and rigging to move the body parts. Since Moho will not import jpgs, I use another program to cut the individualparts from the jpeg, like the arms legs, hands etc. MY PROBLEM is that thecharacters I use are from actual pictures. I create the bones and do therigging to make the body move over a timeline. I like to have a little fun with animation anddo maybe doing for in a year.
